HOW DO YOU REIMAGINE THE DIVER’S WATCH ?

HOW DO YOU REIMAGINE THE DIVER’S WATCH ?

By Marco Borraccino / 2min read

The journey to create the Divetrack was fueled by a passion to redefine the diving watch for the modern era. Inspired by the adventurous spirit of divers and the timeless elegance of the 60s and 70s chronographs, the Divetrack is our answer to the unasked question of what makes a watch truly indispensable under the sea.

Every challenge faced in its creation was an opportunity to innovate, ensuring the Divetrack not only meets but exceeds the expectations of those who seek excellence below the surface.

I’m very proud to introduce you the Singer Divetrack.

The watch itself is a tridimensional sculpture. Whether you flip her over, zoom in close, or admire her from the front, left side or right, she shines under every light and in any shadow. The Divetrack is as compelling on a wrist as it is staged on a set. This watch isn’t just a looker; it commands the full spotlight.

At Singer we have pushed the boundaries of what a diving watch can be, infusing it with unprecedented thought, consideration, and innovative application that is rarely seen for a tool watch in the world of high horology.

One of the most groundbreaking features of the Divetrack is its central chronograph hand, designed ingeniously to measure the full diving experience—from the anticipation before the plunge through the adrenaline of the dive to the reflective safety post-dive. This central chronograph not only enhances functionality but also elevates the entire user experience.

Additionally, the time of day is cleverly displayed in the middle of the case, ensuring that essential information is always at the glance of an eye without impeding the primary function of the central chronograph.

And then there’s the Agengraphe movement—the heart of the Divetrack. Visible through a sapphire display case-back, the complicated movement is a spectacle of fine watchmaking. Every gear, spring, and lever is crafted to exacting standards, offering a transparent view into the soul of this extraordinary timepiece.

Creating the Divetrack has been an enlightening journey. It has reaffirmed my belief that the worlds of utility and luxury can not only coexist but can do so in a manner that challenges our expectations and expands our horizons. The Divetrack isn’t just a watch; it’s a testament to the spirit of exploration and the ceaseless pursuit of innovation.

WE TAKE and BREAK, INNOVATE and REMAKE

WE TAKE and BREAK, INNOVATE and REMAKE

By Waleed ElTayeb Gubara / Watch Lyrical / 2min read

I recently had the privilege of spending a week with Singer Reimagined’s latest masterpiece, the Divetrack. This experience allowed me to live with, photograph, and film this astonishing timepiece. And believe me when I say you’ve never seen a tool watch like this before.
John Doe

They say if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it

That’s just mediocrity in desperation,

We take and break, innovate and remake

And give you legends for consideration

Since the 60s, not much has changed

Till we began the changing

It’s been same same – but different

For the dive watch for generations

But here we are, once again, true to form

Exceeding all expectations

Reimagining an icon with functional innovation

This is history in the making,

Again, this history in the making

As we push the bar with 30 bar

In this high horology statement

This is history in the making

With its gorgeous complication

Agengraph in full display beautifully vibrating

This is history in the making

Groundbreaking new foundations

The only diver’s chronograph

Since man began creating

With a central hand to safely plan

Your deep-sea exploration

And the time-of-day mid-case displayed

For life’s daily applications

This history in the making

This is from meets function

This is sweet disruption

Take a breath because this is breathtaking

This is history in the making

This is the Singer path

This is the chronograph

Reimagined and fuelled by Audacity

This is the Divetrack, the one bar none

Our love letter to the sea.

In my humble opinion, the Divetrack stands as the perfect symphony between form and function, presenting itself not just as a tool but as an essential companion for the serious diver, whether you choose to dive with it or instead use a professional digital dive tool which would be the prefered choice for many no doubt. You will be mistaken if you think Singer created a watch to replace your dive computer.

Like with everything Singer does, this watch is born out of a passion for high watchmaking, unparalleled functionality and a creative spirit that embraces innovation whilst showing appreciation for the bygone years that have led us here.

This watch exists because it is the very reason Singer exists.

Some watches are merely topics of polite conversation, but the Divetrack invites you into a deep, engaging discussion. It’s the kind of timepiece that sparks debates and draws opinions; it’s polarizing, disruptive, ambitious, and utterly unique. With its groundbreaking features and bold design, the Divetrack is anything but typical. This isn’t just another novelty in the watch world; it’s a significant milestone in the evolution of dive watches. The Divetrack isn’t just part of history—it’s making history.

To illustrate the watch’s functionality in an engaging and original manner, we’ve created, in collaboration with the creative agency H5, a short animated film inspired by the iconic opening titles of James Bond films, characterized by timeless vintage graphics and minimalist design.

The animation follows the narrative of a thrilling deep-sea dive, incorporating elements from action movie aesthetics.

UNA STORIA MILANESE

UNA STORIA MILANESE

By Marco Borraccino / 5min read

Marco is back in the fascinating, creative city that saw him grow up and inspired since ever. Between industrial past and artistic present, Milan embodies a refined lifestyle, a unparalleled design culture and unique style.
John Doe

They say Milano is cold (much less than Geneva!), gray (rather Safran!), and industrial (proof of Italy’s immense creativity through history!), a city where the praise “sea, countryside, and mountains are no more than an hour and a half by car” has always been a pride.

As you can figure, Milano is in my blood.

I was born in Milan, I grew up in Milan, I was inspired by “Milàn l’è un gran Milàn’’, and I was very proud to be back to Milan presenting my creativity and vision of horology with Singer timepieces.

A positive connection between man and object

Milano embodies a timeless style, an unchanging refinement, a “je ne sais pas quoi” very italiano, not to be found elsewhere, energizing the daily life with a little magic and lot of sophistication. This vibrant ecosystem has always inspired me to be the designer I am today.

It must be said that Milano is the Italian city which best represents

the “Made in Italy”, with the full adherence of aesthetic form to practical function. Design and execution of daily objects transformed into beautiful, indispensable, and inspiring items.

This is exactly how I design and re-imagine each Singer chronograph.

Inspired but never constrained by history and traditions, each timepiece is a testament to Singer’s promise to creating watches that are functional as they are beautiful, embodying a perfect harmony between form and function.

Classici senza tempo

Is the love of this philosophy and creativity, that gave birth to the Singer 1969 Collection –  sophisticated both by the mechanism and the display; timeless by the materials and the design codes.

As you may have already guessed, I’ve always been fascinated by the golden decades of design between the ’60s and ’70s and especially Italian designs.

Castiglioni, Ponti, Zanuso, Magistretti working in collaboration with emerging “design” companies, started creating the furniture, lamps, and technical objects that would shape the full development of Italian design in the 1960s and 1970s.

It takes genius to turn ordinary shapes into aesthetically noteworthy functional design projects – The exceptionality of ordinary objects marks the italian style, in an elegantissimo way.

A presto !

THE BARISTA EVENT IN VERONA

An evening in Verona with Singer Reimagined & Orologeria Concato

We had the pleasure to introduce our new Singer Flytrack Barista during an exclusive event we hosted in Verona last week. During the cocktail we introduced our new creative Flytrack timepiece which combines the love of the espresso ritual with the engineering of an exclusive timepiece.
John Doe

We were thrilled to unveil a further exclusive Flytrack edition, designed to celebrate the introduction of our brand to the Italian market, in collaboration with Orologeria Concato in Verona.

Marco Borraccino, co-founder and creative director of Singer Reimagined is both an Italian and a coffee aficionado. His love for espresso led him to imagine the BARISTA scale allowing easy measurement of the extraction time for your favorite coffee style prepared with your espresso machine.

Singer Flytrack is a “time only” watch, featuring our signature peripheral hours-disc indication combined with central minutes and central swiping seconds.
John Doe

A watch that celebrates elements of Italian culture and lifestyle requires an appropriate visual style.

For this edition the newly introduced stainless-steel case is hand-finished with circular brushing and polished edges. The dial is matte brown, velvet-touch with the unique one-minute coffee brewing scale traced in contrast using a subtle beige color. A circular brushed golden rehaut, with a contrasting 60 second indication in black, underlines the refinement of this timepiece.

The peripheral, rotating hour disc is presented in black matte ceramic and features 12 luminescent markings. The luminescent orange hour pointer is placed at 6 o’clock, in Singer tradition.

A dark brown smooth calf strap, with brown stitching, is completed with a matching stainless-steel folding buckle.

The Barista edition extends the Flytrack collection that began with the Tachymeter, Pulsometer and Telemeter variants.

Each design is distinctive and purpose oriented but shares the same signature Flytrack function.

FLYTRACK BARISTA EDITION

The Art of Watchmaking & The Art of Espresso.

The Singer Flytrack Barista combines the love of this espresso ritual, performed countless times every day around the world, with the engineering of an exclusive timepiece.
John Doe

In 2020, our philosophy Relentless Pursuit of Excellence, led us to develop a cutting-edge, zero-reset function with our collection of minimalist Flytrack models.

Today we are thrilled to unveil a further exclusive Flytrack edition, designed to celebrate the introduction of our brand to the Italian market, in collaboration with Orologeria Concato in Verona.

Marco Borraccino, co-founder and creative director of Singer Reimagined is both an Italian and a coffee aficionado. His love for espresso led him to imagine the BARISTA scale allowing easy measurement of the extraction time for your favorite coffee style prepared with your espresso machine. Espresso brewing is an art. Precision is the key.

The Singer Flytrack “Barista” represents the meeting point of two universes: The Art of Watchmaking and The Art of Espresso.

Many factors are involved in the extraction of the perfect single espresso shot, beginning with 6 to 8 grams of your favorite, freshly ground arabica, pressed with an espresso tamper and the correct amount of force. Extracting the perfect 30ml espresso shot then takes between 25 to 30 seconds using hot water between 90 and 95 °C at a pressure of 9ATM.

The longer the extraction time shown on the scale, the larger (and more diluted) your coffee style. Just be aware that Italians would complain to anything longer than an Espresso!

When brewing an espresso shot, the first 5 to 7 seconds – the orange area on the dial scale – correspond to the infusion of hot water into ground coffee. Nothing happens visually yet. The magic is happening inside the filter. Next, the first drops of a rich, black liquid are seen, followed by a dense foam spilling.

Depending on the amount of time you keep your coffee dripping into the cup, taste, strength, density, acidity and fragrances will evolve. Ristretto, Espresso, Lungo or Americano?

There are only guidelines in coffee brewing, no hard and fast rules. What really matters is how each one enjoys its coffee the most!

CHRONOGRAPH ON DEMAND

A single touch of the pusher instantly reset to zero the central sweeping second-hand. Releasing the pusher sets the second hand in motion, allowing instant measurement of short intervals of time (60 seconds). An operation that can be repeated as many times as needed, without interfering with the timekeeping of your watch.

The Flytrack mechanism is also designed to be used as a hacking seconds device to synchronize your watch with an accurate timekeeping source. By keeping the push button down, the seconds hand will stay still, allowing you to release it precisely at the correct moment.

Developed in collaboration with Agenhor, Singer Flytrack movement, AG6364, has noble descendants, sharing its architecture with the prestigious, award winning, Agengraphe.

A dedicated development, focused on efficiency and performance, drove our technical team and watchmakers to imagine innovative solutions to deliver a playful yet useful complication aiming to be the most minimalistic iteration on the chronograph theme. 314 components, manual winding, two barrels providing 55h of power reserve, 49 jewels and a unique flyback & zero-reset function.

All characteristics providing the Singer Flytrack with the pedigree of a future classic.

THE ULTIMATE SECRET REVEALED

TRACK1 SKLT EDITION

“where is the oscillating weight that powers the watch?”
John Doe

Have you ever wondered where is the oscillating weight that powers Track1 Singer watches? With a new skeleton front, the full movement is revealed for the first time.

The Track1 – SKLT Edition is the first watch from Singer Reimagined with a skeleton dial, allowing the full beauty of its revolutionary movement to be unveiled. This is a very special and rare watch highlighting the exquisite engineering of the Track1 collection and Singer’s mastery of precious materials.

The Track 1 – SKLT Edition features a new-generation transparent dial, suspended over the movement, allowing a view of the components below.

Shaped as a structural chassis, the open-work dial reveals the signature minutes wheel below, highlighted in a golden finish, to match the aesthetic of this special watch. Underneath the minutes wheel lies the automatic rotor itself.

Through the open-work dial of the Track1 – SKLT Edition, these vital elements of the movement are finally exposed and visible, revealing the secret of our automatic system for the first time.

The Track 1 - SKLT Edition celebrates the engineering behind our signature 60-hour chronograph by revealing elements that were previously hidden.

“Everything is Important” remains our mantra at Singer. Accordingly, we have also turned our attention to the details elsewhere.

At the outer edge of the watch, the ceramic rotating hours and minutes discs carry engraved numerals filled in golden Superluminova®, against a matte black background. On the dial flange, a tachymetric scale is presented with black numerals against a circular brushed golden background.

The Singer name is carved from metal and becomes three-dimensional, floating over the visible movement.

The transparent sapphire ring, suspended and riveted to the chassis, carries the single base 60 scale, dedicated to all chronograph functions. This feature, a signature of the Track 1, allows each chrono hand (seconds, minutes and hours) to point to the same scale, improving clarity.

A PRECIOUS 18k yellow gold case

Five alternating, hand-applied finishes are used on to highlight the dynamic shapes of this watch. The circular-brushed upper case surface creates vibrant reflections. Contrasting hand-polished edges frame the sleek profile of the watch and highlight the horizontal brushing used for the case sides.

On the back of the case, concentric circular brushing focuses the eye on the beautiful complexity of the Agengraphe movement. Finally, the strap housing is sand-blasted to provide functional durability.

Only the expertise and skill of our expert craftsmen allows Singer to achieve this level of exquisite execution. These finishes underline the mastery of materials and the passion that lies behind our work.

THE ENGINE UNDER THE BONNET
John Doe

The AgenGraphe, the calibre powering the Singer Track1 stands apart from all previous chronograph movements. The result of a decade of development, this groundbreaking piece of mechanical ingenuitycompletely redefines fundamental principles that have remained unchanged for decades.

The underlying idea that led to the invention of the AgenGraphe was to enhance the legibility of the chronograph – which is usually poor – with the use of small counters spread out across the dial. Thanks to a radically new architecture, the AgenGraphe brings together all the chronograph functions in the centre of the watch, allowing for an easy and intuitive reading of elapsed time. To further enhance legibility, the chronograph incorporates jumping minute and hour indicators.

To connect the chronograph mechanism to the timekeeping gear train, the AgenGraphe features an innovative clutch mechanism. The coupling is made horizontally which requires less space, yet it is made using friction, just like a vertical clutch.

The dial-side rotor (made possible because the hands are on a central axis) leaves an unimpeded view of the movement and its 477 meticulously hand-finished parts.
