Marco Borraccino has designed a unique Track1 Edition specially for this occasion using a particular material:

Damascus Black Steel

The Damascus steel is one of the most refined forging techniques commonly used in sword making. We have used this specific technique to manufacture the Only watch Edition case.

The darkness of the black matte case with the golden details brings an eye-catching contrast that gives an instant luxurious look.

But, before talking beauty and uniqueness, let’s point-out the importance of the Only Watch event and how proud we are to participate to this 2019 edition.

What is the Only Watch Auction?

Only Watch is the most high-profile biennial charity watch auction. It contributes in raising awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy and pursuing a cure for this genetic disorder primarily affecting children.

Only watch is about creating beauty to do good. Founded in 2005 by Luc Pettavino President of the Association Monégasque Contre les Myopathie and under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Only Watch auctions allowed to collect over 40M CHF during its previous editions. This time, under the hammer of Christie’s and thanks to the support of over 50 brands, all funds will be donated to scientific and medical laboratories for the research on neuromuscular diseases in general, and on Duchenne muscular dystrophy in particular.

Thanks to its wide range of donators Only Watch organizes for this 8^th Edition, ahead of the auction, a world tour to exhibit this never-seen before watch collection, not only through selected Christie’s salesrooms but also retailers and events. It will start in Monaco and will end in Geneva.

How Singer Reimagined is contributing in this event?

Now, time to talk about beauty and uniqueness!

We have created a special case to nest our revolutionary movement AgenGraphe 6361. We have designed the Only Watch Edition staying in line with Singer DNA and the Track1 Collection. This unique chronograph is assembled by our watchmaker Agenhor . On another hand, the black case has been developed in collaboration with GoS watches and their Sweden Masters Johan Gustafsson and Patrik Sjögre who helped our partners Delwest conceiving this authentic case in Damascus Steel.

The result is a breath-taking version of the award winning Track1. Indeed, the Damascus steel brings darkness that make a perfect contrast with the sparkle and light of the golden details on the dial and the rivets.

Damascus steel is a sophisticated material created by layering different types of steel and then applying different techniques to create a pattern that runs through the whole piece. GoS sourced the material from Damasteel Swedish masters of stainless Damascus steel. The steel was forged according to GoS intentions to create the perfect pattern to highlight the shapes of the Singer Track1 case. GoS then further refined the material before milling the case. GoS has a combined 35 years of experience in Damascus steel finishing. The elaborate finishing GoS selected for Singer Track1-Only Watch Edition combines deep-etched surfaces with lightly etched ones to reveal the Damascus steel pattern in different ways. The case is all black to enhance contrasts towards the exclusive golden details on the dial. The special true black coating was developed and applied by Ionbond Sweden. It is the darkest black PVD available and the result of 10 years research.
